Our breeding station was founded and registered in 2017 by the International Cynological Organization FCI under registration number 111/8. The one that allowed me to establish my breeding station and actively devote myself to this beautiful breed – the Golden Retriever is the female BITERSWEET SYMPHONY Canis Regnum „MIA“. We brought our „firstborn“ Mia originally only for fun, as a companion for walks and the moments we spent together after our first retriever „BONA“ left us for the rainbow bridge after 8 years of life with us in the east of Slovakia, naturally without papers, brought from the shelter in the east of Slovakia. And it was precisely she who opened my heart to this breed and taught me how much joy, energy and exceptional bond a Golden Retriever can bring.
I had no idea how much this rather modest plan of mine would change, since I had my first training with Mia. That training was aimed not only at the dog’s controllability and obedience, but rather at the hunting work, which is the original mission of the retriever, for which it was bred. That caught my heart very quickly, because when I saw how the dog enjoyed and was happy doing what it has in its genes, it was even more enjoyable for its owner. So we are moving in this direction together.
And since I am only human after a while, I started to think about getting another dog partner for our MII and the dream became reality in 2018 when the first litter „A“ was born at our breeding station and little HOYA was born in it. It was she who won me over with her friendly, balanced temperament typical for retrievers, beautiful golden coat and so we already had such a little „puppy“ at home until some time…
However, as one of our Slovak proverbs says, „Never say never,“ in May 2021 and November 2022, one blonde snowdrop and one golden torpedo arrived at our place. At that time, I had a very urgent feeling and a compulsion to bring a dog of interesting pedigree and at the same time unrelated to the breeds here in Slovakia and in the EU from abroad. But not only one arrived, but in the end, in chronological order, two APPLE and MAJA. Both of them integrated into the group immediately and without a single problem, as is already customary with this breed.
Our four-member stud was destined to lead a happy life for four years. The year 2026 brought a new wind to our breeding station in the form of offspring of the IZZI breed, which is a descendant of APPLE and ADELKA, continuing the bloodline of the founder of our breeding station MII.
We are very happy to have offspring from both of our breeding females and to be able to continue and thoughtfully build on the bloodlines we have selected for continued and controlled development, which is also the cornerstone of our breeding philosophy. Although our dogs achieve success both in showring and on working trials, in everyday life they are primarily our partners. We spend every free moment with them in nature, at dog sports, on walks together, or simply at home, on the couch, to allow them to lead a balanced and fulfilling life with us.
Although there are many of them, our dogs live with us in the house; they have access to the entire garden, their own house, and freedom; however, they spend most of their time where we are. They are full members of the family, their best friends, and that will always be the case.
Finally, I must also thank my family – my three boys; without their support and silent understanding, I could not do what I do.
